The Flat Season at Redcar Racecourse continues with it's next meeting on 21st July for their 1940's Revival Day. Millbry Hill are thrilled to be supporting the Best Turned Out Series at Redcar Racecourse this season, and we are looking forward to keeping you up to date with all of the action at Redcar this Flat Season.
The scores on the doors this season so far... whoever has the most points at the end of the season, will win an overall Best Turned Out prize and presentation!
Millbry Hill are supporting this new initiative for 2019 by providing a £20 voucher to each Best Turned Out winner, awarding a rosette and a voucher to the hard working Stable Staff that make racing possible.
The vouchers have been a huge hit so far this season and the smiles say it all! Kevin Skelton currently takes the lead for Bryan Smart, closely followed by Emily Bullock who represents Ruth Carr.
Hollie Doyle was the leading lady on Ladies Day at Redcar's last meeting, which saw crowds of people dress for the glamorous occasion. The popular rider bagged a double in the first two races, starting with hot favourite War Storm for Lambourn trainer Archie Watson in the Chic Hats EBF Novice Stakes. Despite the colt being odds-on, Doyle had to display all her strength to get the better of Paul Mulrennan on Cruising.
Doyle outgunned Mulrennan again in the next race, with Nearly There, trained in County Durham by Wilf Storey, staying on well to beat Angel Gabriel by half a length.
Veteran trainer Storey was quick to praise Doyle afterwards: “She’s a great jockey – horses run for her and she’s got a good head on her shoulders. I honestly can’t fault her,” he said.
The Best Dressed Lady prize went to Kayleigh Imiela and Best Hat prize went to Tracey Raw.

"Redcar’s reputation for combining competitive action with family fun was underlined recently when it was voted "the best small racecourse in Scotland and the North of England" by the Racegoers' Club.
The friendly seaside course has 18 competitive meetings between April and November, including seven premier racedays, such as Ladies’ Day, Caribbean Carnival Day, and Oktoberfest Beer Festival Day, featuring the Two Year Old Trophy.
During the 2019 season, Redcar is delighted to be associated with Millbry Hill in awarding 'best-turned out' prizes for every race in the calendar, rewarding hard-working stable staff who go the extra mile".
