High Scores For Victoria…

I firstly would like to start by saying Happy New Year and a massive thank you to Millbry Hill for the support throughout 2018!I’ve been pretty busy since my last blog in October with University work and competing. I’m currently on the second to last day of my Christmas break and writing this between assignments as well as planning for a time constrained assessment.
November consisted of myself and Ruby attending our first British Dressage (BD) under 25 camp. We received 84% and 80% in the C squad rider tests, which are marked on the way the rider affects the horse. We also chased our final points for winter regionals points, unfortunately at the end of qualifying period we were still 6 points short. However I have qualified for the Novice Silver Freestyle to Music at the Winter Regionals.

December is usually a quiet month for us due to the wet weather but not this year! Dry weather saw us starting our Summer Regional campaign at Aike Grange Stud, which has just started running BD affiliated competitions. We had good scores of 66+% coming 1st and 2nd, unfortunately just short of the qualifying score which is 67%. On the 30th of December we were out supporting the Holderness Hunt Pony Club at a local Pony Club dressage series for a win on 73.33% and a 2nd.

At the end of December I received my Musto Arena BR2 jacket courtesy of the team at Millbry Hill and Musto. There will be a product review of this coming on my Instagram soon.
January 2019 is mainly filled with training and plenty of preparation for winter regionals. My lessons so far have been working on Ruby’s way of going to achieve those higher marks. We had BD youth squading this week and test riding at Bishop Burton the week after.

I’m looking forward to competing and sharing what 2019 has in store.
