Joules clothing is an extensive outdoor clothing collection that we stock here at Millbry Hill. The brand specialises in country clothing and has made a huge impact on the country fashion in the UK. The Joules brand came about in around 1999 when Tom Joule purchased 80 per cent of his father’s company and started designing his first t-shirts. Tom Joule has always had a passion within equestrian gear and he went from selling unbranded knit caps in booths at equestrian events to owning his own business and becoming a successful country brand in 2001.

Tom Joules has had a few ups and downs within his brand, one of the downs being the spread of the mad cow disease putting Joules’ business on hold. He had a breakthrough in 2002 when his brand began to get recognised throughout the UK and beyond and by 2005 he had over 700 wholesale accounts.

Joules clothing has grew a lot since it first started and although his brand represents the typical English countryside he had 85 per cent of his clothing manufactured in China in 2008 which helped his brand progress globally. Now Joules clothing is in stores and is expected to grow even more in the upcoming years.
